Years of doing the same thing makes your body tight and you may not even recognize it because it happens so slowly. Your body adapts to the way you use it and you may become unbalanced in muscular strength. Then when you do something different such as going on holiday, helping someone move, doing gardening, or something where you have to use your whole body, you are more at risk of injury. Unbalanced muscular tension around joints can pull those joints out of alignment which can then start wear and tear that is a precursor to arthritis. If one joint anywhere in your body is out of alignment it makes everything else work harder.
